FAQs About Our NYC Carriage Rides
We have been working with our horses in Central Park since 2000. Our experienced drivers along with our beloved horses will provide a magical experience and guide you through this iconic park.
We do! Central Park – like the rest of New York City – is beautiful throughout the year, and we provide carriage rides for every season. Whether you want to see the city in spring or summer, or to see the colors of autumn and the majesty of winter, we have the perfect ride for you.
Top Hat NY only takes online reservations. This way you can avoid the lines and get right in your carriage! Book ahead with us online or give us a call.
Absolutely! We need just one hour’s notice; you can book with us online or call us directly.
Once you arrive at our location, our carriages will have a Top Hat NY sign displayed in front of the carriage. You can also ask any horse and carriage driver standing at our location to direct you to our carriages or call the number provided on the website. Please do not interact with any pedicab drivers surrounding our location; only speak with drivers next to their horse and carriage.
Our drivers are located across the street from 106 Central Park South at the 59th Street and 6th Avenue Park entrance. Look for the big statue at the entrance of the park of a man on a horse called the Jose Martin statue.
You can call the number on our website to get the name and number of your driver. Please note that we typically schedule drivers on the day of service.
We provide a number of different rides, ranging from our most popular ride, which runs for 40-45 minutes, our VIP ride, which runs 50-55 minutes, to our mini ride, which runs for 20 minutes.
Yes. On all our Central Park rides you will have an opportunity to stop and take a picture. Please note that on the Rockefeller Center Ride there are no photo stops allowed at or around Rockefeller Center due to traffic and safety regulations but you will be able to take a photo at the Park Skyline at the beginning of the ride.
All of our horse and carriage rides are private.
While all of our rides can be booked in the evening, we do have a special Moonlight Ride that is only bookable from 6:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. This ride runs for 40-45 minutes and travels through the park illuminated by moonlight, providing a magical atmosphere along the way. There is a beautiful photo stop at the park skyline with the city lights in the background.
We also offer a Magical Nighttime Ride, bookable from 7:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., running for 40-45 minutes through the southeast corner of the park and then down Fifth Avenue to Rockefeller Center, then back to our pick-up location. Please note that on this ride there are no photo stops allowed at or around Rockefeller Center due to traffic and safety regulations, but you will be able to take a photo at the park skyline at the beginning of the ride.
